During the holiday season, most people are often wrapped up in making plans for gifts, occasions, and outfits. Meanwhile, their hair gets very little attention and is often an afterthought at the last minute. Well, it's time to change that. Your curls deserve to look and feel their best during the holidays so you can enjoy the festivities with confidence.
Now that the the holidays are fast approaching, let's help you put together a wash day routine that will keep your hair looking flawless all through the festivities.
Prepoo A Day Before
The holidays are the perfect time to give your hair a special treatment so start with a pre-shampoo treatment that will nourish your hair and help with detangling. Divide your hair into 4-6 sections and work a generous amount of our Hair & Scalp Oil in. Starting from the ends to the roots, gently finger detangle as you spread the oil throughout your hair. Then, cover your hair with a plastic cap and leave it for a few hours. You can do this step the night before your wash day and leave the oil on overnight for optimal penetration.
You can also pre-poo with our Moisture Rich Conditioner for an extra boost of moisture before you hop in the shower.
Cleanse
Next, it's time to cleanse with our hydrating Manuka Honey Shampoo which will remove all buildup of oil and dirt while keeping your hair soft. When shampooing, apply the product to your scalp and focus most of your attention there as that is where most of the product buildup lies. If you have very thick type 4 curls, wash your hair in the same sections as your pre-poo to make it easier to detangle.
Load Up On Deep Conditioner
To soften your hair and give it a smooth and shiny appearance fit for the holidays, you'll need to deep condition it with a little more finesse. Apply our Manuka Honey Deep Conditioning Mask, cover your hair with a plastic bag and steam the hair under a hair steamer or a hooded dryer for 15-30 minutes. The added heat will help open up your cuticles and improve penetration of the formula.
Detangle With Care
Detangling your hair is key to achieving good styling results so before you rinse off the deep conditioner, thoroughly detangle your hair with a wide-tooth comb or detangling brush. You can do this in sections to make it easier and more seamless. If your comb does not easily glide through your hair, start by detangling with your fingers first and feel for any knots and tangles. Then finish up with your comb and rinse off the conditioner.
Moisturise Moisturise Moisturise
Properly moisturised hair is the base for any curly hairstyle so once you're out of the shower, pat your hair dry with a microfiber towel and load up on moisture. Apply a generous amount of our Manuka Honey Leave-in Conditioner and seal in the moisture with our Hair & Scalp Oil.

Dry With A Diffuser
Since the weather is pretty cold and harsh during the holidays, air drying may not be the best option for you. Why? It takes too long and you don't want to go out with wet hair and end up with damage or frizz. So, grab your diffuser or blow dryer, place the heat setting on medium to low and dry your hair. Depending on your hairstyle, you may need to fluff your hair after drying for more volume but try to avoid overdoing it as that can mess up your curl definition.
Treat Your Scalp
After styling, treat your scalp to some nourishment with our Strengthening Oil. You do not need too much, just apply a few drops evenly all over your scalp and use your fingers to gently massage it in.
